SICILIA - Madonie

In these lands the natural, historical and artistic heritage is remarkable. In a context characterized by rugged mountains overlooking the Sicilian sea, the signs of man are still evident, pointing out a millennial presence (Prehistory) which, in some cases, is handed down to current activities.

The territory is marked by numerous religious buildings, monasteries, hermitages and rupestrian churches, often suggestively isolated high up in the mountains. The mills rest, forgotten, along the waterways, while the old farmhouses, often built on the remains of ancient Roman farmhouses, testify the ability of a gone culture, capable of living in symbiosis with nature.
